Part II - strict EJB or Spring etc?

Hello
I realise this has been asked a lot of times, but I am finding contradictory advice in this faq, and wonder what the current opinion is:

In the part II assignment are we supposed to use EJB solutions (Entities,DOs, VOs, Sessions, MessageBeans, Core J2eePatterns etc) or can we use for example Spring, Hibernate, Struts as our J2EE solution ?

From my personal experience the latter newer approaches provide much more condensed, elegant results, but if the exam wantd EJBs then that is what I shall do

I think the EJB should be batter, because this is the Sun's certification and sun is the advocacy of EJB.
Spring Framework is pretty good, but it dosen't accord with SCEA.
