Hi,
Could you please help me to choose the right books for SCEA5.
I found this link (below) has the list of books but i believe the list is quite big to cover and does not cover all the sections.

https://coderanch.com/t/155965/java-Architect-SCEA/certification/FREE-SCEA-Beta-Certification-Exam

For all other sun exams i found selective books in java ranch except SCEA5. I have completed 4 sun exams, have worked on JSF,Hibernate projects also read many books related to design patterns including Core J2EE Patterns: Best Practices and Design Strategies (2nd Edition).

Presently i am studying for SCEA 5 and totally confused with the books i need to study. I believe many of us also having the same problem. Could anyone please let us know the books, notes we need to study for SCEA5.

Thanks in advance !!!

I also have a background on JSF and Hibernate so that was enough for me to cover the JPA and some of the Web Tier questions.

As far as books, I would recommend Core J2EE Patterns, Head First Design Patterns.

I also browsed the intro pages of Core JSF and Beginning Hibernate for a short refresher.

For Web Services, I just browsed through the materials freely available in the net. (you might want to try IBM Developerworks for that)

I'm sorry, instead of Beginning Hibernate, I would suggest the Oreilly EJB 3 book.

Well the Hibernate book also helped. But I think I would have gotten a higher score for SCEA 5 Part I if I read the oreilly EJB 3 book instead. I used that book also for BCD 5, which I took after SCEA 5 Part I.

Some people here say that Manning's EJB 3 In Action is better (especially for beginners). You would have to see for yourself which one suits your needs more.

Cheers.
