As per my understanding flight and the equipment in the BRD, is relation between flight (say SQ44A) and number of potential equipment that could be used

like Sq44A(flight) can have A380 as equipment...that makes me think could it be 1 ..to many relationship..any suggestions?

Yes, There can be 1 to many relationship between flight - equipment. But you have to take in to account TIME. At a certain time (i.e. when the flight in on air) there is always 1-to-1 relationship. Also At the planning time (travel planning) the airline has to mention that this flight will have A320 or A330. Only in some situation this changes say the plane not available or something.

Hope that helps.

It depends on your definition of Flight. If by Flight you mean the flight-plan it's a 1-M relationship. If Flight is referring to Actual Flight, 1-1 relationship with the equipment.
