At the present time the only way to 'subscribe' is by checking the 'notify by email' box when you start a new topic in a forum. There isn't a way to subscribe to the entire forum like you can in some newsgroups.

I like the idea of a digest, but I don't know if UBB supports (or wants to support) such a facility. Then again, one could certainly that reading the forum once a day and using the date stamps amounts to a 'digest.' When I'm gone for a few days, that's how I do it.

I think it would be infinitely useful to be able to mark a thread and/or forum in your preferences so that you could be automatically notified when a post is made to that thread.
If email-notifications would generate too much traffic, how about keeping that info on the site itself, so when you log in, you could go to a page that listed all the threads you are subscribing in that have had activity since the last time you logged in.
I find myself missing out or dropping out of conversations merely because I wasn't able to manually check them for new posts. This is especially true of the higher-traffic forums where this feature would be even more greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
