Hi There,

I have cleared scjp 5 recently. I heard that we can take scea exam without completing scwcd. Is it suggested to take scea without completing scwcd?

Regards,
Vijay

Many of my students go for the SCEA right after SCJA - not even the SCJP behind them.

You can do it!

Thanks guys. This imformation is very useful. I have done a couple of projects using EJBs and most of the regular j2ee stuff. But I have only theoritical knowledge of UML, design patterns etc... Before taking this step I will brush up all my j2ee skills and jump in to this.

Thanks again for the immediate response.

You're going to need to brush up on your GOF and J2EE design patterns. And UML is important.

Here's a list of books you might be interested in getting if you want to be successful in SCEA 5.

Recommended Books for SCEA5 Success

I'm hoping to have a book out on the subject in September.

Good luck!

Hi Cameron,
Thanks for the books. It would be of great help if you can release a book.

Thanks again.
