How many years industry experience required before taking SCEA?

Hi ganeshan

Roughly, how many years of industry experience do you think is required before one can get full benfits from the SCEA preparation and exam?

Well, there are not real prerequisites to write and pass the SCEA exam, but I must say, there is a giant amount of information covered. I would say my 10 years in the industry really helped me in passing the SCEA exam.

By the way, for SCEA, you need a very broad knowledge of all JEE topics, although you don't need really exceptional in depth programming knowledge. Your (arulk pillai's) Interview Questions Book actually provides great insight into the many topics that are covered by the SCEA exam. It wouldn't be a bad primer for someone wanting to get into this area of certification.

Yes, I strongly believe to get real benefit out of the SCEA preparation, practical knowledge and exam preparation should go hand in in hand. What ever one leanrns during SCEA prepartion, should try to put that into practice at his/her work situation and experience it, if not already experienced.

It should be just a revision for someone with 10 year experience like you.
