Hello,

Do you have any statistic for SCEA? How many Java architects have this certification ? What is a median salary of these in comparison to meadian salary of Java arcitects in general in US or Canada?
Regards
Vladimir

Hi Vladimir,

I don't have answers to your questions.
But what we can read in this forum is that SCEA is more a way to separate candidates in a recruitment process than a way to increase your salary.

I found in the web an interesting document: "2008 Top Certifications by Salary" in the Certification Magazine (www.certmag.com) of May.

We can see those averages salaries (x $1,000) :
SCJA 68,41
SCJP 79,38
SCWCD 76,45
SCBCD 81,02
SCJD 91,09
SCEA 96,95

But Sun certs are far from Security certs (ISACA CISM: 115,72, for ex.)

Benot,

Thanks for your answer.
Do you know about any survey that points out that SCEA certified Java architects are preferred by employers?
Thanks,
Vladimir

Nice to see the architect designation at the top. I'd still be interested to know how many certs are given out each year, and what the totals are for each designation. Wonder where we can find that?
