I failed and feel deeply hurt that Sun extended the exam at a short notice. I would have passed if i had more time to read and will appreciate if Sun could give free vouchers to all who attempted the beta and failed.

If Sun decided to give free vouchers based on your complaint, then the vouchers should only go to those who failed within the original time frame.
But I do not think Sun should do that. I also do not think they should have extended the beta, but they probably had to make that tough choice.
Probably a large group of those who failed could find some reason they failed that they could complain about. That's probably the main reason the beta is free, so those that fall in the gray area didn't suffer monetary setbacks.
The system isn't perfect, but it also costs Sun lots of money to give these exams. Maybe this will affect your opinion on if certification is worth it, but you should first look at it from another perspective.
Sun is also trying to make an exam that tests real world knowledge and experience. The certification is worthless if it is crammed for and the wrong people pass for that reason (if you do buy this line of reasoning, I guess that would make college degrees worthless lol).

I didn't pass the beta, as a result of having to deal with so many "drag and drop" questions. In average, each single "drag and drop" had taken me 7-10 tries to complete or give up. I thusly think that the failure of my J2ME beta test was actually a failure of the test itself. Please do not document about me having failed the test in my candidate history. Thanks!
