Since there is no book that is specific to the exam available yet, we'd better read the specs for the exam... I am also on it and I don't find that difficult to read the specs...

So be strong and beat it...

Well, MIDP 2.0 spec alone is 566 pages, like a book for the intensive reading and memorizing, not just browsing, plus other spec. Also need to practise the coding since the exam is code base. It's limited and hard to find some sample code. But no choice, I have to

From the number of posting, it seems not many people going for SCMAD, why?

One of the reason is that the market for J2EE is a lot bigger than the market for J2ME and even though the mobile phone usage is pretty higher this year, it cannot still beat the market for J2EE...

It means that traditional Java programmers tend to go for J2EE field, rather than J2ME field... As for the country I am currently residing in, which is Thailand, J2ME game developers got very less opportunity to get a job.... Then they tend to move to the J2EE field...

Not a book, but I am finding this link useful.

All about the new SCMAD Certification Exam.

I actually have some of the books they reccommend. It also has a link back to this forum, which means you are in th e right place for information. Other links are proving to be useful too.

Cool, Chris... The part "What you need to do?" is pretty useful for SCMAD aspirants, I guess...

It seems like there are only three persons in the Ranch: Alibabra, You and me that is going to take SCMAD soon... So we are in the same boat to the treasure island... Let's sail...

Hi, Winston lim. Can you explain more about the voucher offer during the Java Certification Day. Can I get a free voucher, or some sort of discount for a voucher during the Java Certification Day? You or anyone's help will be appreciated.

You can definitely get a discount for a voucher. It's usually 20% discount in Thaialnd, but I am not sure about the country you are in. But sometimes there are some kinda lucky draw in the event and you might win a free exam voucher as well... Hope it helps..

I'm in Canada. I wonder if there is specific day for the Certification day around the world, like sometime in Sept, or different region has it own Certification day, and it's in different time and season?

Mmm... I guess different regions got different periods to hold such event... but it seems like the period to hold Java Certification Day Event in Asia is usually in December...

I think Canada would be in the same period as U.S....

Hi Alibabra,

Keep an eye on this site, specifically for Canada,

Certification Resource

Btw, besides reading book, are you buying the Whizlabs kit?

Best Regards,
winston lim.

Then a brand new SCMAD exam simulator from Enthuware might be a good alternative for you...

Hi Ko Ko Naing,

I think u get the free Whizlab SCMAD kit right? How do you find it? And Yes, budget is my highest consideration...

Btw, the "Enthu" site doesn't not release the SCMAD yet, where you find this news?

Best Regards,
winston lim.

No I didn't get it free. But I was just entitled to review the quality of the questions in it. But since the author of the WhizLabs SCMAD Exam Simulator is our famous SCMAD Study Notes Writer, Sathya, the quality of the questions are really great. But because of the marketing issue, WhizLabs products are in higher price than any other simulators out there...

Believe me! There will be surely a brand new SCMAD Exam Simulator from Enthuware... The official name might probably be JMobile+, but I cannot assure you that that name is confirmed, because there are many marketing issues to be considered, rather than the product itself.

Good news! I am looking forward to it. Enthuware used to have good simulators for Java Technology, and the price is reasonable, not like Whizlabs kit.

Which exam kits have u bought from Enthuware?

This one, I agree.

not like Whizlabs kit

Sincerely, I didn't try the full set of Whizlabs kit, nor Enthuware. I download the Whizlab trial version, but quite large file with quite little question.

Ahrr, by the way, may be you could register the Whizlabs exam kit forum,
they are giving away 50% discount to participant randomly, you might get a cheaper one, who's know?
