Hi,

Seems like the SCMAD(38 of 68 questions) exam is more difficult to pass and score as compare to SCDJWS(Web Services Certification, 47 of 69 questions)?

So, Sun trying to push J2EE platform harder than its J2ME platform?

Not really sure that's the angle I'd take to the whole thing.

I think there's more diversity in specialties in J2EE than in J2ME, hence the three multiple-choice exams and SCEA versus J2ME. One could make the same argument that they're pushing J2EE harder than J2SE by the same rationale.

On a more serious point, the difference in passing level may be due to difference in difficulty, but also difference in the average experience of the users taking the test - J2EE is longer established in the marketplace, so more folks are scoring higher, which lifts the passing mark.

Passed or failed in beta exam is not important, the most important is that the passing rate should be high enough to maintain the value of the certificate.

Nick,

I can't believe you finished that many certifications? Did anybody beat you so far?

Getting certified is part of my job requirements, as this is the company policy.

Sure. All my workmates got more certificate than me, becos they joined the company earilier than me. At least, I am not a MCSE, MCSD, MCDBA, Sybase DBA, CCNX (where X is any characters that fit), and I am not interested to be the holder of these certs.
