Hi all,
As you know I am planning to do the SCMAD ASAP, just can't wait till I be certified. I have started collecting the necessary resources for the exam preperation. I have doubts and want to get cleared. Since there are no SCMAD study guide books, we have to study the specification etc. Now my question is, do we have to remember each and every method signature and its functionality in the MIDP2.0, (for example MIDLet class). I want to have the MMAPI1.1 and the MIDP2.0 specifications in the PDF format as well. I tried to find them, but only got the HTML versions of it. So what are the other resources that I should collect, I have Whizlabs SCMAD simulator, J2ME Complete Reference and the other specifications (CLDC, JTWI, WMA). Thanks a lot for the time.

While you are not expected to learn the APIs for all the classes in all the specifications, some of them are pretty important and might appear on the exam.

You must definitely read all the methods in the MIDlet class as it forms a part of the MIDlet lifecycle. Other than that, it helps to go through the API docs for all the classes anyway because they sometimes provide more information than the specification itself.

The API is very well documented and is pretty easy to read. In fact, the second half of the MIDP 2.0 spec is just a dump of the Javadoc.

Luckily, the specs are pretty small and so, it should not take you too much time to go through them. Always keep in mind the exam objectives while going through the specs.

Of course, it will help a lot if you write a couple of programs to get a feel for the API. It will also help you remember the most commonly used methods.

Hi Sathya,
Thanks a lot for the responce. I truely appriciate your comment. Yes even I feel, there is a very little to remember compared to what we have to SCJP. I am in the process of buying the Whizlabs, but there is a probelm in the purchase. Looking forward to use it, Thanks a lot.
