Hi,
I have completed my SCJP 5 and thought of preparing for the SCMAD.
I new to J2ME, so how long will it take to get the gasp on the features and API.
I am using the book "Core J2ME Technology & MIDP" by John W. Muchow from Sun MicroSystems Press.
Please give me some guidelines about the steps that i should follow in preparing for SCMAD.

I have installed the Java Wireless Toolkit 2.5 Beta, but there are no
cldc and midp folders available.
So i am not able to exceute in command line for setting the classpath
Can anyone help me on this

thanks
Thiyanesh

Hello,
Well the preperation is quite straight forward as it has been discussed in many previouse threads. Reading a book would give you a good idea about the basic concepts of Java ME. But the exam does require you to have a very good knowledge about it. So you have to read the Sepcifications, JTWI, CLDC 1.1, MIDP 2.0, MMAPI 1.1 and WMA 1.1. MMAPI doesn't have a pdf format specificatin, so you have to go through the java doc. Then get hold of Sathyas' notes for the preperation, you might have to add some points when you are doing the questions (his notes are excellent). You have to buy a simulator. Read the reviews before you buy it. If you are fully into studying, I guess you can do the exam with in a month. Good luck and if you need any help, you know what to do...post it here. Hope this information is more than enough to start the studies.... regards..

The cldc and midp jar files are stored under the directory WTKXX/lib. I find this J2ME tutorial very useful as it demostrates different approaches of creating a midlet.

Good luck.

Get me the mayor's office! I need to tell him about this tiny ad:
