Hi All,

I am looking at learning J2ME. With regards to the same I had a few questions.
First of all I want to know If I should learn J2ME & whether it will help in extending my current profile.
I have been mostly working on java - j2ee technologies , web services based system integration and databases. I have not dabbled much with front end work like creating UI's & stuff. I have been doing more of business/middleware layer work.
With this background I would want to know if there is any scope for me in J2ME. I do not want to enter into core front end programming like designing UI screens as this does not go with my current profile.

Do post your suggestions

Regards

I think it entirely depends on what direction you're hoping to go with your career.

Given that you were saying that you do not want to enter into front-end programming, and that your background seems to largely be Java EE technologies, I don't know that Java ME technology really is the best fit for you. I think it would be a good compliment if you're working on distributed systems with differing clients (between handhelds and web-based interfaces with a bit of desktop-based thrown in), but otherwise, if you're looking more in the direction of the Enterprise tier, you might check out the web services exam as something more suitable.

Let me know if I interpreted incorrectly.
