Hi,
Can someone tell me in which order the specs can be studied to get a full understanding of J2ME? Is it the CLDC first and then the MIDP or any other way. I am finding tonnes and tonnes of information on the net, but I am not able to determine where to start. I read JTWI spec and got some basic idea. But which is the best approach to begin with? Any experiences? I am getting the recommended J2ME : Beginner to Expert book by today.

I would start with CLDC and work through MIDP from there. The book, you'll find, is a good guide and goes in a logical order.

I would recommend the following order:

- CLDC - to understand the raw execution nvironment in J2ME devices
- MIDP - core API for J2ME devices
- WMA - after understanding the MIDP Generic Connection Framework
- MMAPI - after understanding the MIDP Media API
- JTWI - which encloses aspects of all the above
