Hi there! Last week I spent a truly inspiring week with Kathy and Bert (and several others) working on the EJB Exam Certification. I thought I'd drop in and see if I can't help field questions with Kathy and Bert on the exam, and just generally hang about I suspect I'll see some familiar faces around, and look forward to meeting new friends as well. --Kimberly
Hello Kimberly, Thanks for joining in. Are you a position to clarify some of the issues regarding the format and organisation of the exam (ie how is the exam going to be run, see my other thread for details)? Or is youre role to purely answer questions regarding exam objectives? Best Regards, Mark
Mark Fletcher - http://www.markfletcher.org/blog I had some Java certs, but they're too old now...
Yay! Well, then I guess it's OK for me to reveal that the hardest questions were written by Kimberly So I think it's only fair, Kimberly, that you'd hang around this part of the ranch and help out For the rest of you who don't know who Kimberly is, she is responsible for developing much of the EJB and Forte courses at Sun Ed. She's also somewhat of a guru at the Colorado Software Summit, and if you've had a chance to hear her speak, then you know she has a way of knowing how to help you "get it". So, we can really use you here Kimberly! But something I hadn't known until last week was that (at the risk of embarrasing the heck out of her) she's also the daughter of someone that just about all of us owe a debt too... the inventor of the pull-down menu! Danny Bobrow, one of that small famous gang from Xerox Parc who was cohorts with Alan Kay and the other GUI inventors. He also was involved with the development of Smalltalk, and as many of you know, Smalltalk was supposed to be a "kid's / teaching language" (what *happened* to it?!) and Kimberly was one of those "kids" that they were testing it on. So, she has an OO heritage. Sorry Kimberly, but that's what you get for signing up Welcome! And it looks like our first order of business is to resolve the beta/voucher issue. I'm heading over there right NOW... cheers, Kathy

ROTFL - gee, thanks Kathy for the warm welcome and expose (I need a european keyboard to do that word properly To answer the prior question, I'm not at ALL involved in the process, Kathy is much more likely to be able to rattle the right cages for that. I am a Sun employee though, so if I can help, I will certainly try to - I'm a very (very!) tiny cog in a very large machine though - so no promises. And I'm not NEARLY so squeaky a wheel as Kathy is *grins* So yeah, I can help with objectives, etc. and will take the pummeling I probably deserve for some of the questions I wrote. Thanks for the warm welcome - glad to be here in such fine company!
Welcome Kimberly.. It really gives the place that authentic look with you and Kathy who are part of the process in rolling out this certificaition hanging around. Guys, I emailed to Evelyn asking her about the status this morning and she said she was in the process of sending the vouchers which she said she had started yesterday. So I am hoping that I would get mine anytime soon. Anyone' got it already? Vasu
hi there, I am preparing for the SCEA part I now. I just joined SCBCD today. It sounds great. Thanks, SCBCD team. I sent the request for free voucher, and I got one email from SUN. I would like to take SCBCD before SCEA part I if I can get the free voucher. -- Jamie SCJP2 SCWCD
Oh, sure, you could do that. Or you could eat some pie. While reading this tiny ad:
