I've booked the exam for a few weeks time and it is all confirmed. I don't get it though. According to other posts, if 400 people take the exam before my scheduled date I won't be able to take it. Will I be notified that this is the case or travel all the way to the testing centre only to be told I can't take it?

Simon, the information I have received suggests that you will not be able to take the exam after 400 people have taken the exam. Sun may then send out another email to say there are no more beta places, so you may find out beforehand, but there is a possibility that you could find the beta test has closed when you arrive at the test centre.
So it is probably necessary to book the exam as close to June 6th as you can.
