Since I received my voucher, it has been one thing after another to get registered for the exam.
On June 4th, I was told the exam did not exist and for me try back in a few days to allow them to check on its status.
On June 17th, the system was having problems and they couldn't register me.
On June 24th, in a general email I was notified by Evelyn to either take the exam or return the voucher.
I tried to contact Prometric but the lines were busy and so I figured the 400 had been met.
I went to Javaranch yesterday (June 30th) and noticed that the number was extended from 400 to 600 and felt that I could register.
This morning (July 1st), I was able to contact Prometric and they stated my voucher was invalid.
I contacted Evelyn, she stated that my voucher was valid. I contacted Prometric again, this time they stated that the limit of 400 had been reached. I transferred to a supervisor and was informed that they had NOT been notified that the number had been extended from 400 to 600 and if they had it would have come by email from the liaison and they had no such email.
This has been my luck with this BETA through Sun and Prometric. This is the second BETA that I have tried to be on with Sun and Prometric and unable to get registered.
I have wasted more time trying to register(over 12 hours in all), if I put a value on the time spent it would cost more than just paying for the voucher in the first place.

Hi,
The same saga is with me.I got the voucher on the 26th of June.I tried to register for 5th of July, the Prometric guys said they have closed registrations.Again after a day they said they are considering people for registration, so again i forwaded my request for registration. Now again they come up with this saying they can't register me as Sun has already got 600 registrations and its closed hence further.I fail to understand whats on between Sun and Prometric people.

hi all
Same is the story with me.
I got voucher on 20 June and registered for 27th June but When I actually reached prometric center to take this exam, I came to know that this particular prometric center is not authorized to conduct this beta exam.
I tried to register with another center but they told that registration are closed as 400 registrations have been made. but after two day I got another email from this particular prometric center that registration are again open so I can take exam. yesterday I again filled the registration form and send to this prometric center. but today I got another email stating that registrations can not be made as sun has reached its target. so my registration got rejected.
This is a very frustrating experience for me.
what I can conclude from this episode that either sun should have dispatched only 600 vouchers or if they have dispatched 600+ voucher than first 600+ should be able to take the exam, not first 600 registrations.
Now what sun can do at this stage is to allow all the persons who hold the valid vouchers and have put a lot of efforts in prepration of this exam to take the exam till 7th July.
Evelyn, Please do something in this matter.
Thanx

I tried to contact with pometric center for this miscommunication . The poemetric service sucks. They did'nt even send me email or phone call about closing the testing center.I'm totally pissed off now. I can't take even july 7th they said all the testing center are not conducting the exams.. my bad luck..i think i should take real exam..

All,
I have communicated to Prometric all the problems from day 1 (vouchers, registration, drag and drop, centers closed, etc.). This beta exam is offered worldwide so maybe with time difference and locations, they are not communicating as fast as they should or can. I raise the issue with Prometric everytime I see a post from the canidates, trying to help all of you.
I have also been clear that I moved the 400 beta takers (actually taken exam) to 600. So I am not sure where the confusion is coming from. I have said from the beginning that once I had reached 400 beta testers (taken the actual exam) I would close the beta, but I moved the number to 600 (the same applies here, if I reach 600 beta takers I will close the beta).
As of today 406 have taken the beta exam, so this means that another 194 need to take the beta by July 7th to reach 600 beta testers (actually taken the exam). If I reach this number I will close the exam, this has always been stated to all beta takers.
I am sorry that you have had so much difficulty in taking this beta with Prometric. I do appreciate your time and effort in doing so. I am working with them to make sure this does not happen again in future betas!
Hope this helps.
Evelyn

Actually it does not help! Prometric still refuses to accept the voucher, I no longer care about the count of people that have taken the exam. I do care about the time wasted preparing for the exam and the amount of time wasted trying to schedule it and being prevented by poor processes!

I think the beta exam should not be limited to the first 600 people who show.
Why not just have an unlimited amount of beta testers and set a deadline date.
Surely the more beta testers the better..

All,
I have posted in other SCBCD forums that the beta registration for the beta is closed. Unfortunately, I reached the 600 mark for just registration.
As for registration, I am not sure why some of you had problems, because the majority of the takers did not have problems signing up. I started getting emails in regards to this on Monday and it's because registration closed Friday evening.
I also stated that if you had problems with anything to contact me so I can help you directly, a few of you did because you could not find a Prometric site and I had someone from Prometric contact you directly with all the necessary information. Some of you lost/deleted your voucher and I resent it, or I resent you a voucher because you were a no show.
I have spoken to Prometric and I am making sure that my next beta runs smoother than this one.
I apologize for the problems some of you had with the beta.
Evelyn
