Hi edward,
As I had ordered the book in september 3, I thought that I would get it by sept 15 (thats what amazon told me :-)) ..
I thought 30-40 days should be good enough to prepare for teh exam!!!
And fixing an exam date would also acclerate my studying process!!! It did so for SCWCD ..
Hope the boook is released asap !!!
tahnks

That's very true, when I wrote my scjp, by not fixing my exam date, I postpone my exam date by 1.5 months later than I originally planned.
I am also looking forward for that book too. Right now, I am just reading Mastering EJB R2

We are scheduled to talk to the publisher / printer on Mondat or Tuesday - they should be able to give us dates, and we'll let you know.

I wasnt getting interest in spec. So I thought of learning EJB from Haefel. And I am enjoying the concept and the reasoning. Matering EJB is for beginers. But the O Reilly is real something.
I havent read spec after some chapters but I believe reading them after O reilley would be pretty simple.

PS I dont know when is 'head first' gonna hit the market.

I have good experience with bookpool.com and it is a bit cheaper but it's still only accept pre-order.

bookpool is perfect for tech books. made order for head first ejb along with bunch of non-tech items. if the order is all tech, bookpool is better bet.

Last week when I enquired with the local B&N, I was told that the release date is about 27th or 28th this month......may not be true for all the stores though.....

Does this book have mock exams, or exam simulator cd attached?
I am still thinking whether I should buy this book or the whizlab simulator.

Do not know if it comes with any software. However I have help review the book's question pool and I think the question DO you help understand EJB technologies. (They are difficult)
I fail at the beta (200 questions) but pass it yesterday (70 questions). Though I passed the eaxm but I still pre-order the book at bookpool ... simply becuase I think the book is good ... so as the head first java and head first SCWCD.
I passed both exam but still want to have those books ... just want to learn more.

Hi -
Got an update... we're not in control of this schedule, but we *believe* the book will be available late October... as I said earlier, O'reilly does an amazingly quick job of turning our PDFs into a real book.
As for the mocks, there are about 207 (I think) mock questions in the book. Some are at the end of each chapter and some are at the end of the book. No CD, but there will be additional free downloads at the wickedlysmart site.
Sorry for the delay, but I'm thinking Kathy did a GREAT job with this book!

Bert,
Thanks for the update. Once O'Reilly does their thing, there will probably be some delay for shipments on back orders held in Amazon or BookPool. Early November sound reasonable?
