Certification Information

I have some queries regarding the examination.
I am a SCJP and planning for another certification. I want to know my eligiblity for SCBCD. Can I appear for the examination directly ? And the most important thing is about course material ? Is the books market having good books available for exam. or do I have to get the help online everytime.. I just went through a topic the technocrats were discussing about the arrival of course material.. hence got the bug in my head ..
