1. I have reviewed posted questions and responses concerning the release of "Head First EJB", including the comment about Amazon, Where the company would fill preOrders first then fill new orders received. AMAZON Stated:
"Our latest information indicates that "Head First Ejb: Passing the
Sun Certified Business Component Developer Exam" has not yet been
released and the expected release date is not known. As soon as a
release date has been determined for this item, we will add that
information to our web site."
2. How DOES ONE get a copy of the book if it has been released? Apparently Major Book retailiers DON'T HAVE A CLUE.???

Well... you might win one from this week's give away.
Or, you might sweet talk Kathy out of hers... though I doubt it.
Other than that, I have no idea except waiting like the rest of us.

O'Reilly still has not 'announced' it is available. No online bookseller is likely to start shipping before this 'announcement'. Even if it is announced as published (later) today, shipment may not start till middle of next week
Best wishes

Howdy -- we know for a fact that the book is in the process of being distributed to the stores, but this takes a couple of weeks before it actually appears on a shelf. We got *one* copy (and you'll have to fight us for it ) from O'Reilly's warehouse, so we know the book is getting out there. At some point very soon, probably within the next two or three days, the *switch* will be thrown on Amazon and it will show that it is shipping. About a week later, it will begin to appear in stores. It really depends how long the stores take to move it through their own distributions. It seems like last time, our book appeared in technical bookstores and other independent stores before it was on the shelf at Borders or Barnes and Noble.
I would expect that it will be in at least a *few* stores by, say, November 7th, and will have shipped to most Amazon customers before that date.
Hang in there!! We know it's out there... but even O'Reilly won't acknowledge its official release until it reaches a certain stage in distribution. You might see something different tomorrow...
cheers,
Kathy
