HF EJB page 456 says MDBs don't have a home. But on page 453 it says:
"If you have, say, the WelcomeBean subscribed to the NewCustomer topic, when a message is published to that topic, the Container will choose only one bean from the WelcomeBean pool to get the message. Remember, the Container keeps a separate pool of beans for each home (and every deployed bean type gets its own home)."

Hi,
That must be a typo (I haven't verified the cite): Message Driven Beans are not accessible for clients - and thus they can never have neither a local nor a remote view. It really doesn't make sense, since one of the core purposes of MDBs are the asynchronous nature (thus the only way a client can "interact" with a MDB is through a message-destination; queue or topic).

Now it's my turn to say oops...
Well, this sentence is true:
Remember, the Container keeps a separate pool of beans for each home (and every deployed bean type gets its own home)."
But it has nothing to do with MDB's!!
So, you're right... it makes no sense there. Just pretend that everything in that paragraph is *technically* correct, but that the last sentence was put there purely to add to your confusion.
MDBs, as you realized, have no home. Do not ask me what I was thinking (smoking?) when I wrote that.
Thanks for finding this!!
cheers,
Kathy
