Hi bhargavi,
As far as I understood, the only difference between a CMP field and a CMR field consists in the TYPE. For both you have to define a pair of abstract getters and setters, but while setting and returning a value that maps to a column in a table (CMP), you set and return a reference to another (local component interface) entity bean, or to a Collection of (local component interface) entity beans.
Using CMR in your code is made only by calling the abstract getters and setters that you have defined, but that the Container implements at deploy-time.
Hope this helps,
Cyril

Hi bhargavi !
Look at this :
Examples about the rules and semantics for relationship assignment and relationship updating in a CMP bean.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
