Hi All,
I have just just started reading SCBCD book(Head First EJB) but I do not seem to get all the steps mentioned in cahpater 1. Ofcourse I understood the initial part but not a bit when it came to the programming part. Is it just me ? I just finished SCJP 1.4. I am little disappointed. I thought i would understand everything but i do not understand .:-)
Is it normal to feel that way?
Thanks,
Raman

Hi Padma,
In fact, the programming part is not that easy to understand if you never work with EJB.
I also feel difficult to read the RI deployment tool, as I never used it. I used WSAD for J2EE development, and thus, most of the concepts are skipped even I worked with EJB for 1 year.
Anyway, it is a good start. You will find yourself knowing more and more while you read the book more. It is an excellent book for beginners to learn EJB.

Hi padma,
I was in the same state as you were
The initial step is teh most difficult one and as you progress, you will find that you are really able to understand what EJB really is and how it all fits!!!
The first chapter is just a quick introduction to EJb -- to le you know what are all the various compnents, etc..
Kathy and Bates do a wonderful job of explainning everything in detail in the most simplest way possible (and the most humorous )!!! in the other chapters!!!
If you go through it twice or thrice you will get a good understanding about it !!!
I was very unfortunate to study for teh exam without kathys book
I thought that the book would be released in September 2003, booked my exam in october!!.
To my dismay the book got delayed , and i took the exam in October reading the specs .. (I had to take it!!)
But i have got Head First EJB now (I wodun't miss it ofr anything )
And I have read the entire book
believe me, I am VERY Sure that you cant find *ANY* book better than head first EJB (atleast from a beginers point of view )
So just go through them again and again, and you will see your confidence level raising from 1, 2, 3 ......INFINITY
Good luck for teh exam
