I've "done" the book once through to the end (not the appendix). Participated in every one of the activities, didn't cheat (I was a good boy.) I had various levels of success with the coffee crams (chapters 4,5 were around 40-50%, chapters 6 & 11 were around 50-60%, the rest were mostly 80%). After I took each test (no peeking), I went through and tried to understand the right answer (the spec page number is a major cop-out BTW - it goes against the Head First style - but I digress).
Now, I'm wondering what the best "next move" would be. I was thinking I would do another run through, but this time skimming and mostly spending time on the exercises. What else could I / should I do?

If I'm in your shoes, I would go for an excellent software simulator, whether EJBPlus, SoftSCBCD or WhizLabs SCBCD. Then note the scores that I get in the first round.... Then I'll read the HF EJB one more time and go for the simulator again... After then, I'll go for the real exam...
Above is just my suggestion... I'm also preparing for SCBCD and going to give it on May 17...
BTW, when do u plan to give it?

I passed the exam with 87% and according to my experience I will suggest you to read through the whole book once again, but this time, revise one chapter and do the questions of the chapter before you start another chapter. And then the day before the exam, just work on the questions once again.

I'm not sure I quite follow. What do you mean by "revise one chapter". The first pass through I did the questions at the end of each chapter after I got done reading that chapter. I agree that right before the exam you do as many questions as possible from whatever source.

I don't have it scheduled yet. My last certification test was booked just a few days ahead. I guess to answer, I'll book it when I think I can pass it! That won't be for a few weeks at least... maybe a lot more.

As for me, my exam voucher will expire on 31st May... That's why I have to rush for it... Actually I planned to use this voucher for SCBCD a long time ago, but SCWCD 1.4 beta came in and I went to that way... Now I'm on fire...
