hi -
I am interested in pursuing certification in a J2EE related environment.
I was wndering whether it is worthwhile to do a weblogic/websphere certification versus a generic one as SCBCD?

How do these compare when it comes to getting a better job ?

Any ideas/suggestions/opinions ?

Thanks
Siddharth

Vendor certification exams are usually exclusively targeted at the vendor's products. In contrary, the SCBCD exam will test you on the technology itself and not on how it is implemented by different vendors. It is a good idea to first take SCBCD and then any vendor certification that would make sense according to your working environment.

As for getting certified to get a job, I have already expressed my opinions in the this discussion
