I have some doubt on entity bean. How does a bean provider know the db schema in the operational environment when he builds an entity bean? CMP fields in the DD must match the column names of a table in a db schema, but a bean provider knows nothing about the table name and its columns name.

Suppose I from company X wear both bean assembler hat and deployer hat, given an off-the-shelf entity bean A from company Y, how can I incorporate entity bean A into my application. Note that the CMP fields do not match the fields of my table.

It is responsibility of the Bean Deployer to map the cmp fields with the actual db fields, and to resolve any external references (i.e. datasources), by using vendor-specific tools.
