HFEJB Lifecycle Overview Pg 210

Here its quoted:

"Bean times out while active"

But if there is no activity for long time the bean will be passivated, and not be active.

How can a bean be active if there is no activity going on on it, it should first be passivated in that case and then removed, rather than what's said here?

This part is confusing..

Please clarify.

Beans will be passivated to reclaim resource, if server encounters resource crunching.

In case, a server does not face resource crunching, it will NOT passivate a bean, but certainly after some time, the bean will be timed out without being passivated first.

Hope this helps,
Susanta
