About mastering EJB by doing the SCBCD exam, the following quotes summarize my thoughts:
- "As in martial arts, you don't get to be a Black Belt by studying -- you get there by doing, and doing repeatedly until you have mastered it. Mastery only comes from doing, not from book learning. So it is with Six Sigma -- we become a Black Belt by demonstrated proficiency in real world situations." --Six Sigma

- "Mastery only comes through long hours of quality practice." --Ericsson, 1994

To sum up, the SCBCD exam alone won't make you an EJB master, but it will give you the fundations and basics for walking that path.

We will be there along the way to help you make some decisions and choose whether to turn left or right at some points... Go ahead

valentin is right on. have heard from friends who conduct tech interviews that they are really turned off by cert holders who have notion of their being expert as a result of exam. certs are great investment in background knowledge: when you do get on real ejb project, the concepts discussed will have something to stick to in your head. certs too are great way of demonstrating your dedication to this line of work.
