Hi, I like to know if Sun is planning a new version of SCBCD based in the j2ee 1.4.

Its important to me because it is possible that you can start to study for 1.3 but when you are ready to present the exam, show a new version of the same exam.

Regards.

My gut tells me that since EJB is going to take such a radical change for 3.0, the folks over at Sun will wait until it's all done before making us recertify.

Kathy has already mentioned that there will be no SCBCD for J2EE 1.4 because there is only slighty different between EJB 2.0 and EJB 2.1.

Do a search and you can find some more discussion on this issue.

Nicholas has a good memory

It will be at least a year before Sun STARTS the process of updating the SCBCD, which means it will probably be 18 months before a new version is live...

You can relax on this one. The main reason that this is true is because the container vendors typically don't upgrade their products quickly, and companies using EJBs typically don't upgrade their containers quickly... too much overhead. When we talk about this with Sun, we all agree that what's really out there, in the real world, is 1.3.

Bert
