Updated Exam SCBCD for Java5...

Hello there, greetings everyone. This is my first post.

I'm planning to take SCBCD exam in november and i'm wondering: when will sun provide an updated version of this exam? I checked in sun's website and found
that it is in version 1.3 (CX-310-090). Will sun provide an SCBCD exam for JAVA5? Any ideas when?

Please note that "1.3" means J2EE 1.3 and not J2SE 1.3
The new version of the SCBCD exam will probably not be out before J2EE 5 gets out.

I understand that new version of SCBCD exam will not be out until at least 6 months after J2EE 5.0 release. well.. actually it'll be named Java EE 5 according to this link:

but i wonder, when will the EJB 3.0 final spec will be release? do you have any clue? a prediction is accepted

you're correct about the naming... "J2" must be too deeply anchored in my neuronal cells at the moment, I guess.

As for EJB 3, the expert group expects to release the final version of the spec by the ned of this year or at the latest by Q1 2006.

Valentin, thanks for the info.

Based on that assumption, I can make a calculation like this:
- EJB 3 spec release on early 2006,
- So the SCBCD beta exam will be conducted on mid 2006
- The new SCBCD will kick in on 4th quarter 2006.

So.. It�s still at least a year for now, right?

That helps me ease my doubt, �cos I�m planning to take SCBCD by the end of this month. After that, maybe I�ll take beta exam on new SCBCD if available, instead of upgrading them.
