Bean Scalability
================
A particular bean (CustomerBean,OrderBean) can provide the more user access without almost delay.

For StateFulBean scalability means, it provides the passivation and activation concepts. When a particular bean is inactive for a long time, the container passivate the bean and provides the memory for the other bean[If the container allocate the definite amount memory to a particular bean, for example take Customer Bean]..

For StateLess Bean, the One Bean instance object may serve for more clients.

Serialization Of Object.
========================
It means convert the object into byte streams and write into secondary storage for the future use.

Passivation of bean
===================
Write a bean instance into secondary storage using Object serialization concept.

I hope it will help you

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
