Hello all

I have passed and Certified SCJP 1.5 Beta in Feb 2005 , After that on 15th July 2005. I have passed SCBCD 1.3 exam with 87%, When I checked my Certification status in http://i7lp.integral7.com/sun. I wondered, becaz status is "Enrolled". Immediately I have give a mail to [email protected].

I got following responce from prometric center.

Unfortunately, according to the i-7 Cert Tracker database http://i7lp.integral7.com/sun, the requirements have not been met to earn certification. The SCJP 5.0 does not count for the prerequisite exam for SCBCD. For certification requirements please log in to your personal file at the i-7 Cert Tracker database http://i7lp.integral7.com/sun and click on "certification progress", then click the name of the certification track.

Could any one advise me on this.

Thank you.
Srinivas

Simply wait for SUN to update the certification requirement, so that SCJP Tiger is added to the list.

But if SCJP is not the pre-requisite then why on SCBCD website it says as under :

Prior to beginning the Sun Certified Business Component Developer program, you must be a Sun Certified Programmer for the Java platform (any edition).

Check last line of "Product Description" on Sun Certified Business Component Developer for the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition 1.3 (CX-310-090)

Hi Srinivas -

I just sent you an email containing the email address of a Sun contact you can write to - she told me it's ok for you to write.

Once you guys have figured this out, please make another post on this forum so that we'll all know the answer

Good luck!

- Bert

Don't worried too much on this issue.

I believe this is because SCJP Tiger is too new, and SUN needs some time to update the system. I encountered the same case when I took SCJP 1.4 (SAI) as SAI exams were new at that 2 years ago. But then, SUN updated the system at around 1 month time.

Be a bit patient and you will receive SCBCD cert. very soon.

I just checked the I7 database and the pre-requist for SCJP Tiger has been updated:

Sun Certified Business Component Developer for the Java 2 Platform 1.3, Enterprise Edition (v.2) Complete All. Always valid.
- Java ProgrammerComplete 1. Always valid.
-- Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform 1.4 Always valid.
-- Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform (1.2) Always valid.
-- Sun Certified Programmer for the Java Platform (1.0.2) Always valid.
-- Sun Certified Programmer for the Java Platform (1.1) Always valid.
-- Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition 5.0 Always valid.
-- Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform 1.4 (SAI) Always valid.
- (310-090) Sun Certified Business Component Developer for the Java 2 Platform 1.3, Enterprise Edition

In addition to SCBCD, all others Java certs have added SCJP Tiger as pre-requist already.

sriniwas_k,

Please check the status of your certificate and I expect that you can receive it soon.

Nick
