Hi
I am new to this forum. I have just completed my SCJP and planning to take my SCBCD certification. Is SCWCD necessary, what is the difficulty level and general market scope?.

Thanks in advance

Yes, the pre-requisite for SCBCD AND SCWCD is SJCP.

So, you can go for SCBCD.

To echo Kapil Munjal, yes, you can take SCBCD before or after SCWCD - they're not sequential exams. SCBCD deals with EJBs and the business portion of Java2 EE, while SCWCD tackles servlets and JSPs, the presentation tier. The exams are independent of each other, though they're both J2EE, and the only exam Sun ever requires on the Java side as a prereq is SCJP.

As for difficulty, I haven't attempted the SCBCD exam since the beta. However, it seemed on par difficulty-wise with the SCWCD.
