Relevance of the current SCBCD exam

I've considered taking the SCBCD exam, however, I'm a little concerned about the relevance of the current exam. While it covers good information on general EJB development, I'm seeing that the 2.0 spec is getting a little aged, and most development for EJB is done with the 2.1 spec, and a push is starting for 3.0. Is there going to be an updated exam any time soon, and more importantly will a certification in for the 2.0 spec mean anything a couple months from now?

Thank you for your input.
