Got a question on remote and local interfaces.

As per my understanding, it's not possible to expose a local interface from a remote method or a remote interface from a local method. I am sure about the former. Just wanted to confirm the latter.

ie If I have a remote component interface method implemented in the bean class, from that method, I cannot expose the local component interface or local home interface of another bean (expose means return it or take it as an argument. Hence you can't do both). Because the local reference would not mean anything on the other heap as references are scoped only to the heap where they are created.

Please try to answer this today. I won't be checking the forum tomorrow and am taking the exam on friday

But my question now is : Is it possible to expose a remote interface from a local method? ie If I have a local component interface business method implemented in a bean class, can I expose a remote home / component interface stub (as a return type or argument type) of another bean from that method. From my understanding of HFEJB, you CAN't. Can someone confirm, also is there a specific reason for this? You can't give a local reference to a remote client, but why can't you give a remote stub to a local client so that the client can be local to YOU but remote to the other bean whose stub you give out?
