Hello everybody,

I'm having real problems with this exam.
It's not that I don't understand everything - I do.
It is that I'm just not able to contain it all in my head at once.
I have memorized all the interfaces to help. But I just cannot commit to memory all the deployment descriptors, there are just too many.
I have worked through Head First EJB, and I have the wizlabs tests. But even after studying for weeks I am still scoring low.

1. Any tips?
2. Do I really need to commit to memory all the deployment descriptors?
3. Is the final exam really that hard?

Thanks,

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

I truly understand how you feel. Please don't hate me if I tell you that "just" memorizing things won't help you get far. You'll maybe manage to get past the exam but next you're gonna forget pretty much everything. Why ? Because memorizing without practicing doesn't make the acquired knowledge stay in your long-term memory. Believe me, I teach J2EE stuff in general, and EJBs in particular, since long enough to be perfectly confident when I say that the best thing you can do to sink that into your brain is to actually practice and code those little beans.

For instance, you could implement a small banking system which would provide one or two session beans for managing people's checking and savings accounts. As soon as you actually get into the dust, you'll see that stuff will much better stay in your head.
