Hi all,

I am trying to execute the AdviceClient demo.

I have added all the jars under lib and the stub jar in classpath and iam still getting following exception. Can someone help?

In the forum, I saw people quoting about appserv-rt.jar, which i donot have in lib. I am using j2ee1.3.1. Is this Jar needed? If so, where can i get it??

Hi Harsha,
From the error message, the problem has to do with the JNDI lookup.
All the same, never mind, Check this thread, alot was discussed about this application. I think it should solve the problem.

Hello all,

If someone is trying to run J2EE 1.3RI, while reading HFEJB, then to avoid any errors, use j2sdk1.4.0.
I have tried with jdk1.5, it gives error
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/corba/se/internal/util/IdentityHashtable
I have also tried with j2sdk1.3, again it gives the following error
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError at com.sun.corba.ee.internal.corba.AnyImpl.createTypeCodeForClass(AnyImpl.java:1256)

To avoid any error and for successful running of server, follow the following steps
CLASSPATH = .;J2EE_HOME/lib/j2ee.jar
JAVA_HOME = //directory of your java standard
J2EE_HOME = //directory of your j2ee

using j2sdk1.4.0
