Hello everyone,

I want to know whether the Manning's book SCBCD EXAM STUDY KIT written by Paul Sanghera is appropriate for my goal. My aim is to pass the SCBCD exam successfully and to master the EJB technology in real work after the exam. So, what do you think which book is the best, this book or Head First EJB? If a person like me, who has little knowledge of EJB, what's the average time to prepare for this exam?

I have just took the SCWCD exam and got a shame score, although I passed. Perhaps I made light of it. I thought it was easy, but it really strikes my confidence. I have to admit that I have little experience in the JSP and Servlet technology but I did read up the Manning's book SCWCD EXAM STUDY KIT(Second edition)before the test. When I did the real exam, I found that some subjects are fresh to me. For example, the tag body content consisting of useBean action, MIME type mapping in web.xml, JavaBeans' constructors with parameters etc. So I think what Satou had said makes sense. Another key reason for my poor score is that I seldom visit this site.

My experience of preparing SCJD exam is pleasure, because I think much of this exam and discuss many problems with friends here. A lot of people, especially Andrew, gave me more helpful thoughts which are still useful in my real work today.

Thanks in advance!
Regards, Ailsa Cape

Hi Alisa, Iam also planning to give SCBCD ASAP. I have given SCWCD today and got good score through HFSJ. Its the best book for SCWCD. Anyways, Iam also looking for SCBCD study material. I have purchased Manning book by Paul Sanghera.

Anybody, please advice us books and material for SCBCD.

HFEJB is very good from exam point of view. But if you want to start it from scratch, I think its good to start with Master EJB by Ed Roman.

Find more resources at SCBCD Links

There are lot of mistakes in HFEJB. I don't recommend you to bang your head to wall with confusion. Better to read the specification after going through a simple tutorial avaialable online. I feel that's the best approach and cost effective too.

Hi All:
I've found the SCBCD Exam Study Kit by Paul Sanghera very useful. This book works well even for a beginner. The material is presented in a very cohesive way, and it's a very self contained book; all the concepts are explained and connected to the big picture. You also get an exam simulator with the book...I 'm very satisfied with this book...

Hi
In my point of view Head First EJB is good book to start with.Just go through book will give you good idea about topics. As i did not read Manning book, But i think buy 2 books if you can afford and then decide by yourself.
B'se everybody has different reading style and liking of studying.

Im also preparing for SCBCD.

Best of Luck.

As mentioned above, both SCBCD Exam Study Kit or Head First EJB are good.
