Are people still taking this EJB(2.0) certification thing?

I am confused about taking SCBCD exam for EBB 2.0.

With EJB 3.0 already out and also Hibernate + Springs being
preferred in place of EJB's

Would this SCBCD exam for EJB 2.0 add weight to my resume.

- It would take some time until we get certification for EJB 3.
- There are number of systems that have been built on EJB 2.x and some one has to maintain/enhance these systems.
- EJB3 is just an improvement of EJB2. Though there are some drastic changes, the basic ideas are the same.
- Once you have certification for EJB2, the EJB3 certification will become much easier for you.

Hi !
And hi Liyaquat, good to see you around here

I agree with the main idea, EJB 3.0 enhances and makes some changes on the EJB 2.1 basis. Pass SCBCD now and upgrade later is a good way (i also agree on the fact that EJB 3 exam is not out tomorrow).

Don't worry, it WILL add weight on your resumee.

And by the way, better know EJB and the requirements of persistence, container, security and so on than only being able to setup, configure and use Hibernate. At least you have deep understanding of "behind the scene" mechanism, which makes you much more valuable.

That's my opinion.
