Can anyone comment on the book to use for SCBCD. I have seen threads mentioning HFEJB as the most important book. I've read Bert Bates' SCJP 5.0 guide & it was truly fantastic, but the transformation to HFEJB style of writing really puts me off. (Must admit have never been a fan of this style of writing; prefer the to the point precise writing as shown in the author's SCJP book.)

I've heard not much about Paul's book on this forum.

Are there any ranchers here who have gone for the SCBCD with only Paul Sanghera's book? Any advice?

I am currently using both and enjoying both. I have read each of them once and in the process of reading HFEJB a second time. I do not like one over the other as I agree with you. I guess that I would say that I like to read HFEJB when I don't feel like studying and I like Sanghera's book better when I'm in "buckle down" mode. I'll post again after I test to let others know which book I thought was more helpful.
