If secratary is a cmr field of the Manager entity bean, which of the following queries is valid? In HFEJB page 406, it says that you cant use dot notation to return a CMR field. But the specs seem to allow that.

1. SELECT m.secretary FROM Manager AS m

2. SELECT OBJECT(m.secretary) FROM Manager AS m

Where did you see this in the spec ?
I read :

11.2.5 Return Value Types
The value of a query result, specified by the SELECT clause, is an entity bean abstract schema type or cmp-field type.
Look! It's Leonardo da Vinci! And he brought a tiny ad!
