In India you have no choice but to contact your prometric.try other ones in your city. check 2test.com to get list of centers.

I succeed to register at 9:00 the first opening day for registering SCBCD.
I'm in Taiwan, and I follow the instructions(http://www.sun.com/training/certification/jaava_scbcd.xml) to call the Prometric directly.
The representative arrange me to take the test on the 01/02(the last day).
And you shoud bring two ID to take test, one with photo on it , and other with signature on it
below is the detailed infomation about the test:
Exam Name/Description: Sun Certified Business Component Developer Java EE Platform 5 (NO "BETA" on the name~~~wowow)
Appointment Duration (HH:MM): 5:15
Please note that the appointment duration may include an exam tutorial and client survey.

Still don't know the total number of questions,

I tried to regiter, but no info on net, no forms are available on net to register online. I called at prometric center, the guy was asking about the exam number. I could not found even exam number ..

Pls help me out if some body have exam number.

It may be the 24th where you are, but where Sun is it's only 8 PM on the 23rd. Don't know if that has anything to do with it...

Hey!!! I got time slot on Dec 27, 2006 at 11:15 AM to take SCBCD5.0 beta.
I am from Hyderabad, A.P., India.
For people who want to take exam here in Hyd, all that you need to do is wrtie an email with your candidate id (this will be with you if you have already taken any Java Certification) and preferred time slot to take the exam. Just send an email with the above details to the mail id [e-mail]

All, I am from Bangalore, India. This afternoon, I registered my scbcd 5.0 exam in a prometric center(NIIT).

Then the concern gave me an acknowledgement of registration. That's all.

I'm trying to register in Brasilia, Brazil, but here they said that the Prometric center only applys the tests, and they cannot do any schedule because of a formal term of service with Prometric.

They also do not know nothing about the certification...

Anyone from Brasil have a sucess in register???

hi luiz,

take the printout of the details of the exam,mention the exam code,take with you your prometric id and ask/insist they find out the details.they should be able to get info atleast from their regional office.
check with other centers also.

Exam code is 311-091,duration 5hrs 25 minutes.
Exam Name: Sun Certified Bus. Component Developer Java EE Platform 5

Hi.

If you are in India and you want to register for Sun's SCBCD 5.0 BETA Exam, you can walk into any Prometric Testing Center and give your name and your SCJP Registration Number and the people at Prometric wil schedule an exam slot for you as per you convenience. I have done this myself and am taking the exam on Saturday (9th Dec 2006). Any last min advise? Do let me know.

And yes, the Phone Number to Sun's Customer Service is 080 222 98 989 . If you call up this number, the guy/girl will transfer your call to the peoper number. There is another phone number too, but I do not have it right now with me.
