Hey People,

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, this is only to make people aware that some of the thomson prometric centers can really do havoc to test takers. I should have posted my SCBCD results on 25th Nov. but due to irresponsibility of RCS Education in Bangalore, Karnataka, I am stuck with my voucher with them.
They gave me a wrong slot, I reached there on time well prepared for the exam only to wait for 2 hours facing rude and irresponsible behavior from the staff and returned empty handed. Since last Saturday I have been trying to contact them only to hear lame excuses about why they cannot schedule my test. I have been waiting impatiently for them to fix a slot for me.

My advise to all you aspirants out there is to try to book the test only at the main Thomson Prometric center in your city and not the other authorized ones.

I have also complained on thomson web-site but have not received any response so far.

I am sorry if you do not like this post. But I hope you understand my frustration.

Sorry to hear your case..
But me too had the same problem...In london,UK...It happened to me on saturday..They sent me back saying that some problem with downloading questions...Than i called up Thomson Prometric, gave them incident number and rescheduled for another week..It was really frustrating..So dont get frustrated and just think that "Whatever happens happens for own good"..

Hey, thanks a lot for the encouraging words. At least you could reschedule your test, my problem is that they are not even confirming me another slot. I have to call them again and again only to hear that they will let me know.

Anyways thanks,
Mini

The bigger centers are not immune to this kind of mediocrity.
This is what went down with me when I took the SCJP.

Just another bad experience

Anyways hope you can finally get to take your test, and good luck!

Amitabha ,

I wish I had read your post earlier and booked my test at 'Thomson Prometric' and not 'RCS Education', Bangalore. Now only I have got the correct picture after calling them about 10 times.
First they gave me a wrong slot, when finally my turn came after waiting for a good 1.5 hours, there was some server problem that they were not able to see, and kept me waiting for another 1 hour, finally when I showed my anger, the center in-charge, was extremely rude and tried to humiliate me by saying that 'have you come to fight with me' and telling me that if I have a problem I should go and complain to Thomson prometric, good suggestion indeed!
Now the story has taken a very interesting turn, in the process of uploading my exam, due the server problem my voucher has been spoilt and they have to get a new voucher for me which according to them is a long process and will take some time, I need to wait endlessly!

Let's hope I am able to take the test before I start forgetting things.

Aspirants in Bangalore, my sincere request is to book your test only at 'Thomson Prometric', as I believe they would be able to handle such things in a better way.

If thers some problem with the test, when u login to prometric using ur mail id,the test status will appear as "NOSHOW".So you need to call prometric phone number in your country[Not the test center number],give your voucher id/student id if you dont have incident ID.Than they will reschedule your test with new voucher id to any place/date and time you want.No use waiting for test center to get back to you.

Prasanth, I called the prometric helpline number, they say I need to speak to the test center, they will only provide me a new voucher.
I dont know how this all works. I am confused!

anyways, thanks, i think I will wait for some more time and see what happens.

You should be having a prometric account. The account id is the email id that you furnished when you gave scjp/scbcd.Find out the password and login into your account and find out what exactly happened.Whether there was any exam even scheduled or not.Find out exactly what happened, some centers may get freaked out though.
for pursueing further check this link http://prometric.com/ContactUs/TestTakers/GlobalCSForm.htm

Further contact the local "thomson prometric" center and tell them the issue.
Mention the date/time/exam/prometric id and give your email id.They will be able to give a clear picture(in case you are not able to login at prometric site).find out the incident id (if any) and pursue the matter from there.

Next time rememember whenever you are scheduling a exam, you will receive a confimation email(in case your exam has been scheduled by the center). In case the mail does not appear 1-2 days prior pursue the issues with the center and find out what happened. It is always better to confirm the schedule of the exam a day before.some centers may schedule the exam the same day you are planning the exam (so you may not receieve the confimation).Still confirm with them the schedule. At the end as humans everyone are bound to err.some accept it gracefully some don't.

find out if the voucher has been used up by someone else at the center.(in case you have the voucher id you should be able to find.)

lastly, you are getting a opportunity to revise one more time.just take it in the right spirit(else it will really bog you down).

all the best.

Rajan, thanks a lot for your suggestions.

Finally the test center has issued me a new voucher and I am finally going to take the test on 5th Dec, as that is the earliest slot available.

Thank you all for your patience and suggestions.

Absolutely right! I will open K&B once again this weekend to give a last shot.

Thanks satheesh!! Actually the incident proved really helpful and yesterday I cleared the test with 100% (first time in so many years I have scored 100 in any exam)
I already posted my experience here

What was the "X" factor that added all the zing.

a. HFEJB
b. JavaRanch.com SCBCD form.
c. SCJP (ver?)
d. SQL knowledge
e. ejbcertificate.com
f. Enthuware.
g. Any other ejb book/tutorial etc.
h. Knowledge of rmi/corba etc prior distributed computing.
i. That "guy" at the prometric center.
j. Yourself.
k. You java guide/faculty
l. Anything else not mentioned in the above list.

(I am sure that guy would have had a bewildered look to see this girl jumping and screaming out of joy - if you have not yet jumped up you must it is a incredible score.)

Further,do you think it would have been possible if the number of answers would not have been mentioned. Was there any ambigous questions that made you to guess in ruling out a answer or choosing a correct one.

Well well,

a. HFEJB - Top position
b. JavaRanch.com SCBCD form - Second most important
c. SCJP (ver?) - 1.5 (93%)
d. SQL knowledge - Yes
e. ejbcertificate.com - I could have done without this one.
f. Enthuware - Definitely a good practice before the real test
g. Any other ejb book/tutorial etc - None
h. Knowledge of rmi/corba etc prior distributed computing.- No!
i. That "guy" at the prometric center - Hmmmm
j. Yourself - Well.....
k. You java guide/faculty - None
l. Anything else not mentioned in the above list - EJB spec

Further,do you think it would have been possible if the number of answers would not have been mentioned. Was there any ambigous questions that made you to guess in ruling out a answer or choosing a correct one.

I am sure it wouldn't have been possible without knowing the correct no. of answers, there are a few qs which though not completely ambiguous are tricky ones, so if you know the no. of options, it hekps to streamline the answers.

My opinion: If one gets 100% without knowledge of no. of correct answers, that would be truly incredible!
