Hi All

I just cleared SCJP5.0 exam.I am planning to take up SCBCD coming january end.In SCJP5.0 study guide,it was told you should have basic know how of java before starting the book.Is the same apply to Head first EJB.This is the first time i am exposed to EJB.Also whats the latest edition of HFEJB.I am so confused with EJB3.0 and SCBCD5.0.Kindly advise.Shall i start preparing for SCBCD1.3 using HFEJB and when official SCBCD5.0 comes i can just take it up with one week preparation for just the differences between 1.3 and 5.0 and take up the exam.

Regards,

Hi !

SCBCD 5.0 is beta currently.

It won't go into production be the end of January, maybe in March.

So, you're safe to prepare SCBCD 1.3 and take it in Jan.

HF EJB is the best book to prepare for SCBCD 1.3. Currently there is only one edition of HF EJB, and it covers EJB 2.0 specification (SCBCD 1.3).

After SCBCD 5.0 goes to production, I believe HF EJB will be updated for EJB 3.0 specification, but this will not happen very soon.

regards,
MZ

Since EJB 3.0 has changed a lot in terms of Entity Bean, I don't believe you can only spend 1 week for preparation, unless you already know them all.
