Hi, buddies,

I am reading the Manning SCBCD book.

It is said that there are only two ways for a bean to enter the ready state: through creation (ejbCreate, ejbPostCreate) or through activation
(ejbActivate).

I find a problem here. If a client invokes the findByPrimaryKey() to search
the specific entity, then the client invokes the business methods on the
reference to component interface of the entity, an entity bean instance in ready state should do the service, right? (suppose that there are no create methods have ever been invoked.)

So, why they say that there are only two ways for a bean to enter the ready state?
