I have just noticed that the exam status of the SCBCD 5.0 beta test has been changed from Tested to Passed.

However, based on previous experiences, it may not be accurate because some people got a 'Passed' status in Prometric, but a 'Failed' status in I7 Database, and eventually, they were failed.

Anyway, just an update to the test.

Are you sure that it hasn't said passed since you took the test? And that it will say past until the actual results are in? (Mine says passed as well, don't want to get my hopes up)

Yes, the status is Tested after I took the test. I checked that after the test because I encountered some problems on the exam day as the centre told me the exam answers may not be able to submit to Prometric due to the Internet connectivity was collasped during the Taiwan earthquake.

Thus, I checked the status to make sure that Prometric did count the test I took.

Even I have got a status as passed and I hope it will be the same in I7 Db.

So is that I7 will always be correct rather than prometric ?

Use the username and password that you register the exam in prometric.

I am not sure whether it is already available, as it is just a pass/fail in the Prometric website. Also, as I said in earlier posts, some people see a pass in Prometric while a fail in I7, and SUN used I7 as the final decision of pass/fail. Thus, this may not be an accurate result.

Feeling really disgusted a set back in life but will surely fight back for it. My prometric result says failed....will surely give it again with better preparation. Congatulation to all those who made it.

Dont give up too soon. I7's result is the finalized result. Maybe something wrong in Prometric.

Congrats Nick, Morten, Mahmoud, Tanu!

Two test takers in my office have "Failed" status and two of them have "Passed" on the Prometric site. My test status is showing "Passed".

I think we need to question Prometric on what basis are they showing that status? And why display status at all when Sun decided to post results in I7 on Feb 14th?

AFAIK, information from Prometric is replicated to I7.
This happened when I updated once my address at I7 - it was eventually reverted back to old one.

After I contacted Sun support - they said that I7 updated address from Prometric database. So, it may happen the same with exam status. First it posted at Prometric and after that status replicated to I7.

My Status on Prometric site is "Failed"

But reading through all these posts, I think I should wait till tomorrow..to see my result on I7 site......and see that I am REALLY FAILED or who knows..something good can come from a bag !!!

Till now, I can not see my result on I7...however, why the exam results being published on multiple sites? that creates lot of confusion....

Is anybody out here knows the passing percentage of this exam??? after the result at-least? or we have to wait for the score report for that !!!

Actually, Prometric is responsible to provide testing centres for several vendors (Sun, Microsoft, IBM, etc), and thus, they keep the record.

However, it is also reasonable for vendors themselves to keep a certification database, and this makes 2 places to hold the result.

Score will only be shown on the score report, and we have to wait to see the hardcopy when it arrives.

I forgot where I saw such post, should be either SCJP Tiger beta or SCDJWS beta.

Anyway, we should celebrate if the Prometric's result is the finalized trustable result.

MZ,

I found the post. You can refer it here:
https://coderanch.com/t/248814/java-programmer-SCJP/certification/SCJP-Tiger-beta-exam-result

Here is the quota from the 33th message in the thread by Dibbo Khan:

Wait a second, I have some potentially disturbing news, the prometric site says I passed, but the SUN Cert manager says I failed. So the information displayed on the prometric site might not be correct. Does anyone know what is going on???

I feel happy that is the case as my result shows as passed in Prometric.
But I am afraid at the same time with Nicholas comments with his observations with previous results when it shows passed in Prometric and failed in I7. I wonder why it happens!!

You know, instead of everyone getting all worried about what the status at Prometric's site means, why not just wait until tomorrow morning when we will all know the official results through I7?

As my wife keeps reminding me, there's enough to worry about in life without giving yourself new things.

In the past, scores of all SUN exams that you took will post in that database, however, it is now only be used for SCJD and SCEA.

I don't see a score, though

A few hours ago, I received an e-mail from Sun. They said that I am certified (and asked me to update my profile in the CertManager database).
