I trying to decide whether I should take SCWCD or SCBCD.

I am told that SCWCD involves a lot of memorization and this is not my long suit.

Can anybody tell something about SCBCD.

Do you want develop only Web UIs (User Interfaces) then SCWCD is the way. For developing enterprise systems (with Swing UI) choose SCBCD.

Why not doing both of them? This way you can write Web UI or Swing UI based enterprise systems .

hi Victor,

I found SCWCD easier than SCJP, and I did not have to memory a lot
(I had a couple of years experience developing jsp's, servlets etc).

I also did SCBCD (the old one, about EJB 2.0). I had to study harder, because I didn't have a lot of experience with EJB's.
SCBCD does not teach you anything about Swing.

SCBCD definitely does NOT teach one Swing . What I want to say to Victor is that SCWCD teach you how to create a web based UI.

In case of SCBCD you don't care for the UI but only for you enterprise business logic. But what system works without an UI? Normally they all do. And if it's not a web based UI it will be some kind of a Swing UI.

So, when Victor knows that he will not use a web based UI, he also does not need to go for SCWCD. He can go straight for SCBCD and add his Swing UI later on his own.

Does it make sense  ?
