1.3 v/s 5.0

Hello friends,
After reading all the posts regarding confusion for which exam to go for, 1.3 or 5th edition..
i have come to the conclusion,A person who is new to java beans, need to understand the concept of bean first ,reading the HEAD FIRST 2003 published book for exam 1.3

As i took a birds eye view on the new EJB version 3.0, it seems to read and understand the new version , one should have quite a good amount of knowledge of beans first,and which would be gained reading kathy's book..

So I would go for the older book to understand the concept,and then will read the EJB 3.0 specs..

It would be nice to have some feedback from the ranchers who have already given this test whether older or new one..
