Annotations vs DD

What would be the advantage of using Annotations to decorate my bean rather than having it described in the DD?

The DD overrides your annotations. But my question here is what would be advantageous when we use Annotations over DD?

Keeping declaring close to the code, and avoiding to clutter the ejb descriptor.
