books for SCBCD5

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Hi

I think I will appear for SCBCD5.0

The link that I found on javaranch tells me to read the Mastering EJB3.0 book by Patel, Bose and Silverman. Does this book cover all the exam objectives?

Any comments on the material to be used for SCBCD5.0 are welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

I have started reading the EJB book by Patel and others. It says this

The RMI-IIOP and JNDI are pre requisites for using EJB and appendix A will be useful to you if you are new on the EJB road.

So the question is, should I really read the appendix A first before I start with the book? Is it a must read and try out for the sample code if any?

JNDI reading will help you when you read about MDB's but most of the RMI-IIOP is abstracted and does not warrant reading from the exam's point of view.

I'm using this book as my main resource:

Enterprise JavaBeans 3.0 (5th Edition)

I'll be sitting the exam on the 28th and will let you know if the book is enough to pass (and hopefully get a good score).

Good luck to us both!

There is no specific book released for scbcd 5.0. You can follow any good EJB 3.0 books.

Do we have the exam study kit for SCBCD5.0 the way we had for WCD - Hanumant Deshmukh.

It is available for scbcd 1.3. They haven't released any book for scbcd 5.0

Hi Niranjan! I just cleared the exam this morning with 85% using the book I mentioned above, the simulator from Enthuware (special thanks to Paul Anil!) and parts of Mikalai's notes (special thanks to MZ also!). More details of my exam experience can be found here.

Happy studying and hope the info from my post helps!
I can't beleive you just said that. Now I need to calm down with this tiny ad:
